Monday, the high point of the week. Time to work!

Here's today's fine agenda:

  • Microsoft adds OpenAI tech to Office

  • AI detects vision loss in elderly

  • Zesty Meme

Microsoft to incorporate AI into Office

(Source)

Microsoft is planning to add AI functionalities into their Office/365 applications such as Word and Outlook.

According to the article, the AI (which would be prompt based) could make a quick write up on the subject. Allowing the writer then to go in and make changes. I feel this is a lot easier than starting with a blank page every time.

Imagine Cortana writing your meeting summaries for you, a true assistant! (Noone reads those anyway)

A feature that already is present is the autocompletion in Word, and as a daily WordMemengineer, I think it's quite good.

AI detects loss of vision in elderly ๐Ÿ‘ต

Age-related macular degeneration (let's call that AMD) is one of the leading causes of vision loss globally, and the leading cause in the "western world".

Going untreated, it can have irreversible effects causing complete loss of vision.

In the challenge ADAM, researchers were able to create an extremely lightweight model. This model is then used to aid in detection. The hardware required to utilize the model can be used in any clinic with ease.

Will AI be able to help us combat illness and diseases? AI is already aiding in cancer treatment, helping doctors make better decisions regarding if patients need additional treatment, such as chemotherapy after surgery.

Today's Quote

โ€œThe current business landscape is unpredictable, and that puts pressure on budgets and resources โ€“ and ultimately, on employees.

Using AI to automate processes and improve productivity relieves this pressure.

Itโ€™s very encouraging to hear workers say they understand how AI can benefit them in their own role,

as enterprises need employee buy-in if they want to make an AI rollout successful.โ€
